The Hague Network is a collaborative international membership community of universities, exploring new ways to further the quality of education together and create impact via our projects. We connect ideas and cultures across Europe aiming to create sustainable impact for students, teachers, professors, and staff alike.

Who we are

A European network

For over 10 years, The Hague Network partner institutions have been pooling experience and resources to set up collaborative initiatives and innovative projects in higher education internationalization in Europe. Joint activities range from various forms of student and staff exchange to research projects and the development of new internationalization formats, such as the multilateral Virtual Exchange program.

Who we are

Diverse and Inclusive

Partner institutions continue to draw strength from jointly covering a very diverse set of characteristics. We are both research universities as well as universities of applied sciences, public and private institutions, larger and smaller campuses, different geographical regions, languages and cultures as well as different academic specialisms and as such we look to complement and challenge each other. We aim to increase the quality of our learning and research for the benefits of students and staff alike.

Our network values

We learn by doing

We share the same kind of open and hands-on mentality. Together we experiment, learn and develop new insights. Our approach is flexible, involving 2, 3 or however many partners it takes in co-creating in (research) projects with professors, researchers, teachers, students and/or the work field.

We embrace collaboration

We believe continuous improvement requires working together with partners with different perspectives. Our aspiration is to become a platform for collective learning in international education and research. We offer this platform, (technical) support, experience and knowledge to the motivated and committed professionals that together form our community.

We are flexible

Through experimenting we aim to build an innovation culture. We share and scale the methods and results to fit each members priorities and circumstances, respecting the diversity within our network. By doing so, we contribute to global and inclusive learning.

We challenge the status quo

We share a passion for learning and an intrinsic motivation to improve education. This is why we dare to be pioneers in the field of education and research and enjoy exploring new frontiers. Our curiosity brings us into contact with the new knowledge, skills and partners that are a precondition for innovation.
